Job Description

Our client is foreign venture company. We are manufacturing wooden furniture for exporting to Canada and the USA market. We are looking for QUALITY MANAGER with details:

 Quality strategy planning & management

  • Regulate process improvements/ work instructions/ process instructions
  • Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure the compliance with quality requirements as well as International Standards and other applicable quality and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that the performance of the QMS is reviewed at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. This review means assessing opportunities for improvement and the need for changes to the QMS.
  • Ensure that Quality Objectives are set by top management for measuring the performance of the QMS and that these are regularly reviewed.  
  • Develops strategic plans to reach company objectives.
  • Establishing a company's quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Prepare the yearly QM budget, QM investments and personnel requirements and prepare to adjust accordingly
  • 2. Production quality
  • Has overall responsibility for product quality. Actively promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the plant by training and assisting plant personnel in problem solving techniques and developing corrective action plans.
  • Lead the QA/QC team in Vietnam and proactively influence the overall organization to maintain the quality focus
  • Manages, coaches, and provides guidance to global quality department personnel to ensure the most efficient use of organizational talent.
  • Making sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards
  • Looking at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
  • Ensure that manufacturing production run smoothly and generate a consistently suitable output
  • Examine an production process to find ways to improve efficiency and make products better in general.
  • Establish a training plan for quality systems & methods and ensure training is conducted with relevant personnel
  • Drive quality cost savings within Company's operations

Quality programs & tools

  • Develops and monitors quality metrics and implements corrective action when those metrics do not conform to goals.
  • Uses LEAN/Six sigma principles, rules, systems and tools to support improvement activities and workshops through coaching, training and facilitation, with a highly customer centric focus.
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture.
  • Utilize KPIs and statistics to drive focus and improvement on total quality performance
  • Plan, organize and conduct shop floor employee training on quality topics
  • Work closely with the production team, development team to ensure quality focus
  • Conduct root cause analysis in cooperation with the production e.g. 5-Why questions. Implement countermeasures and ensure FMEA update

Customer complaint management

  • Overall responsibility for Customer complaint process; corrective/preventive action programs.
  • Provide clear leadership to sustain an environment focused on Quality and the Customer.
  • Promote awareness of Customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to global customers, suppliers and manufacturing sites.

Product development Quality

  • Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products

Supplier Quality

  • To work with purchasing dept. to establish quality requirements from external suppliers

Quality Auditing

  • Overall responsibility for internal, external and customer audits.
  • Making CAP for findings and improvements
  • Analyse weaknesses of Q-system, improve Q-system according to the found weaknesses

Job Requirement

  • University degree and above in technical background, industrial engineering, manufacturing, wooden and furniture science technology
  • 07 years experience in QM and Production
  • 3 years managerial experience working with wooden furniture manufacturing in Vietnam
  • Experience in QS-technology, quality assurance system, leadership, handling of customer complaints
  • Experience in measuring instruments, SPC, SWOT- Analysis
  • Strong experience in FMEA, Q-Systems implementation / maintenance ISO standards
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of LEAN/Six Sigma principles, rules, systems and tools with experience supporting improvement activities.
  • Has had responsibility for quality activities including to but not limited to calibration, non-conforming material, inspection, auditing, supplier qualification, management review.
  • Good communication, pursuance and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Skills in numerical and statistical analysis
  • The ability to work as part of a team, an understanding and appreciation of other people's work disciplines.
  • Good at using computer and fluency in English.
