Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Safety Manager / Lead Safety Officer to oversee, implement, and enforce our Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (OSHE) programs across assigned project sites in Vietnam and Oversea. You will lead our safety personnel, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and champion a zero-accident safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Site Oversight

  • Lead the Safety Team: Supervise and mentor Safety Officers and site safety personnel across all assigned projects.

  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and site inspections to spot hazards and immediately enforce corrective actions.

  • Subcontractor Management: Monitor subcontractors to ensure they fully comply with project safety standards.

  • Company Representative: Act as the primary point of contact for the company on all safety and health matters with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and government authorities.

Compliance, Documentation & Risk Management

  • Program Management: Develop, roll out, and maintain OSHE programs that align with local laws, company policies, and client specifications.

  • Document Review: Evaluate and approve critical safety documents, including Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Risk Assessments (RA), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) applications.

  • Reporting: Prepare and submit all required safety data, compliance paperwork, and official regulatory documents to management and authorities.

  • Credentials: Agree to let the company use your professional safety licenses and certifications for regulatory and bidding credentials at no additional cost.

Incident Prevention & Response

  • Investigations: Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents. Determine root causes, write detailed reports, and implement preventive measures.

  • Emergency Readiness: Design, update, and manage emergency response and evacuation plans.

  • Training & Culture: Run safety orientations, daily toolbox meetings, emergency drills, and continuous safety training to build a strong safety culture.

  • Equipment Management: Ensure all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety devices are available, properly maintained, and correctly used.

  • Perform other related safety duties as requested by management.

Job Requirements

  • Certifications: Must hold a valid Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) certification along with all legally required safety accreditations.

  • Experience:

    • At least 5 years of total experience in occupational safety and health.

    • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

    • Experience in construction, steel structures, or industrial projects is highly preferred.

  • Expertise: Deep understanding of occupational safety, environmental laws, fire safety regulations, risk management, and safe work protocols.

  • Technical Skills: Proven track record in auditing, incident investigation, risk assessment, and drafting regulatory compliance reports.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, site teams, and government officials.

  • Location & Travel: Willingness to be stationed at project sites within Vietnam and travel as required by operations.
