Job Description

The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for planning and coordinating all Sales and Marketing activities on Country level.  He/she will work closely and functionally with the Regional Sales and Marketing teams and work under the direct and administrative management of the Country Managing Director or Country CEO.

The primary purposes of this role are:

  • Development and Implementation of Country Sales Strategy aligned with Regional Sales and Product Strategy;
  • Establish, communicate & implement sales targets and sales plans for the Country in line with budget;
  • Manage the Sales and marketing team of the Country to meet and exceed the sales objectives of growth, profitability and productivity;
  • Provide leadership and ownership of activity and development on designated Strategic Accounts;
  • Improve company’s competitive position in the local market

Essential Job Duties

  • Sales Management – In alignment with the Regional Sales Strategy develop and implement the required Sales Structure at Country level and ensure efficient organization and management of the entire Country Sales force to execute Country Sales Strategy.
  • Establish direction on Sales Process Target, e.g. focus required on existing and prospective customers, across all customer segments. Enforce and implement clear activity planning guidelines for the various Sales positions at Country level while developing and implementing competitive Sales Incentive Plans to stimulate activity.
  • Key account management (Global and Regional Strategic Accounts) – To manage key accounts and focus on objectives, budgets and development of existing accounts and new accounts. Establish a strategy to enhance sales and ensure a strong relationship is held.
  • Field Sales Management – Prepare a field sales strategy giving clear objectives of initiatives for the team. Develop sales toolkits, case studies and product brochures.
  • Trade Lane Management – Develop sales relationships and maintain frequent communication with clients and internal stakeholders. Establish accountabilities, KPI and processes to ensure meeting customer and financial goals
  • Business Process Management – Focus on setting budgets for the department coinciding with market intelligence, business trends and the company’s vision. Establish market and corporate communications that execute marketing activities such as sales campaigns and customer events/exhibitions. Make full use of BI Tools to collaborate reports on each aspect of the sales department, in order to manage performance. Manage marketing activities and manage the usage of the CRM system in place.
  • Specialist sales – Develop business plans to ensure growth and profitability within all vertical markets and follow up on a regular basis. Ensure customer satisfaction is gained within by having a close working relationship with the necessary teams in transport and logistics departments.

Standards & Governance

  • Track and ensure adherence to Global & Regional sales policies, guidelines and standards in the Country, and coordinate and manage timely and efficient implementation of changes;
  • Ensure adherence to data quality standards;
  • Ensure full compliance by all sales functions on structure requirements & sales processes as defined by Global & Regional sales;
  • Define and implement Country KPIs for each sales function in cooperation with Global Sales Standards & Governance;
  • Develop and implement performance reporting to measure and track both Country performance;
  • Ensure data availability to sales team to perform required customer analysis.
  • Streamline and enforce CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Tool usage compliance by all Country sales functions to ensure visibility of sales activities.

Educational background / Work experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Economics/Marketing (Degree in Business/Sales & Marketing related disciplines or equivalent)
  • 10-12 years of experience in Sales and Team management capacity in a freight forwarding environment (minimum 10 years)

Language skills

  • Fluent in Vietnamese and English is preferred.
  • Other languages (written and spoken) a plus
