Job Description

The Strategic Planning Director's main duty is to make sure that all work completed by the agency has a solid strategic foundation and can provide high-value consulting to our customers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Participate in client briefing sessions (or delegate members of the Strategic Planning team).

• Determine and implement the most effective strategy for gathering pertinent consumer insights/data, category information, and macro trends (quantitative and qualitative) relevant to the brief.

• Analyze the information/insights from the research and develop a strategic direction to guide creative development.

• Inform creative teams of the project needs and monitor the development of creative concepts. Ensure the ideas follow the ideation process and align with the project's predetermined goals and strategic direction.

• Create a strategic plan and, as necessary, select measurable KPIs for marketing communications campaigns. This typically requires close coordination between planners, media specialists/agencies, and market research agencies.

• Present strategic plans to clients, offering advice and assistance in determining the best course of action for achieving their goals.

• Establish a productive working relationship between the agency's other departments and the planning team..

• Mentor and support young strategic talents in the department.

Job Requirement

Over 10 years of planning and brand strategy experience.

• Managerial experience with demonstrable involvement in various strategic engagements with regional or global client brands.

• Possess a strong capability for strategic thinking.

• Deep understanding of all marketing communications platforms, especially emerging digital and social ones; able to ensure plans are integrated and scalable.

• Strong research and analytical skills; able to synthesize different data and inputs to create a succinct and accurate roadmap or direction.

• Business-driven mindset with a passion for using strategic creativity to help businesses thrive.

• Excellent presentation skills, able to influence decision-makers and drive success in business presentations.

• Rational thinker with strong leadership skills.
