Job Description
As the Sample Workshop Manager, you will drive sample product progress, ensure quality standards, and streamline workflow across all categories:
- Operation & Timeline Management:
- Oversee overall workshop operations including Cutting, Stitching, Lasting, Assembly, and Finishing.
- Manage and hit on-time shipment schedules for all sample stages (Proto, SMS, Size sets).
- Control material handling, optimization, and consumption within the sample room while managing outsourcing suppliers.
- Technical & Quality Control:
- Spearhead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to troubleshoot development issues and resolve critical technical challenges.
- Establish quality control during the development stage to ensure a seamless transition to mass production.
- Attend weekly product reviews with PDM and Expats to inspect and approve finished sample products.
- People & Team Excellence:
- Train, motivate, and foster a positive, high-energy mindset among team members.
- Maintain seamless communication and cross-functional synergy with related departments (PDM, BTTM Eng, Commercial, etc.).
Job Requirement
- Experience: 10 to 15+ years of solid experience in footwear development and sample room/workshop operations.
- Technical Expertise: * Strong foundational knowledge of shoe composition, shoemaking processes, and seasonal workflows.
- Proven experience in jig & tool application, process setup, and optimization (ME/IE knowledge is a strong plus).
- Leadership & Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong leadership to motivate teams, and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Language: Intermediate level or above in English (Writing, Reading, Speaking, and Listening) to effectively work with Expats.
